Mary Beth Gabriel: Employee Retention

Employee Retention
Being a smaller company staffing can be challenging and employee retention is even more important. It is hard to obtain staff and even more difficult to retain staff with larger companies surrounding us. Advantage has created many spectacular incentives of their own to ensure employees feel valued.

Recently the Altoona, PA office held their annual employee team building event. This year the employees requested to gather at the local Altoona Curve baseball game and tailgate prior. We had a wonderful turn out with staff, where we were able to relax, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company over good food and a good game.

The Advantage Team is more than co-workers, we have turned into a family. We are there for each other whenever we need help in emergencies or even the day to day problems. Becoming a family takes time and effort. Getting to know your co-workers, especially outside the stress of work , allows the cohesive bonds of our team to grow stronger solidifying the foundation our patients need. Communication between clinicians begins to flow naturally, exchanging information about their shared patients and an added conversation of, "How is your day going?".

It is a true pleasure to work with Advantage. The tenured staff takes “newbies” under their wings welcoming them in to their new family. They ensure to surround them with knowledge while sharing their love of their job, taking care of people in our communities.
